About the Bursary
Following the generous gift from the Moley Family Foundation in 2024, the Elizabeth Moley Bursary was created in memory of alumna Elizabeth Moley (BA Administration, 1960).
The Bursary aims to provide financial assistance and support for individuals who've received free school meals during their secondary education and wish to pursue a course-based or taught in the University's School of Social Sciences. This Bursary is designed to alleviate financial burdens, foster inclusivity, and facilitate access to and success at higher education for students from underrepresented backgrounds.
The Bursary
For 2025, we have two bursaries available.
Recipients of the Bursary will receive an annual maintenance grant of £8,000 per year for every year of their degree course.
It will be paid in two instalments, in October and in February. Each year, continued receipt of the bursary is dependent on satisfactory academic progression.
