How your shortlist is saved
When you add an award to your shortlist, it is saved in your own browser, on this device only. There is no account to create, and we do not store your shortlist on our server.
Where it is kept
Your shortlist is held in your browser's own storage (the part of it called
localStorage), under a single entry named ede_shortlist_v1. It
holds the awards you picked, the order you put them in, and any notes you typed.
Because it lives in this browser, it is not available in a different browser, on another device, or in a private window you have since closed. It also needs JavaScript switched on — there is no version of the shortlist that works without it.
What reaches us, and what does not
Adding, reordering or removing an award sends nothing to us at all. It happens entirely in your browser.
When you open the shortlist page itself, your browser sends us the list of award numbers it has saved, because the page has to look those awards up before it can show them to you. They are used to build that one page and are not saved or linked to you.
Your notes are never sent to us. They stay on this device, and they are put into the PDF by your browser — the PDF is written on your own machine, not downloaded from our server.
How long it lasts
Your shortlist clears itself after about 24 minutes without activity, so one left open on a shared or library computer does not linger. Download the PDF if you want to keep it.
You can also clear it yourself at any time from the shortlist page, and clearing this site's data in your browser settings removes it immediately.
No cookies are used
None of this uses cookies. The funding search and the shortlist set no cookies of their own, so blocking or clearing cookies does not affect your shortlist one way or the other — it is not a cookie, and deleting cookies will not delete it.
