About the Science and Engineering Excellence Scholarship
The Manchester Science and Engineering Excellence Scholarship is awarded to UK fee-paying students, applying for undergraduate courses in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, to support the costs associated with studying at ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½.
Scheme eligibility
Essential criteria are conditions you must meet to be considered for this scheme. Students who do not meet these criteria will not be considered for this award.
To be eligible, you must meet the following:
- Have been assessed for fee status as a 'home' student;
- Have an offer to study an undergraduate engineering course at ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½, starting September 2026.
- Have chosen Manchester as your firm choice during the main UCAS cycle;
- Have received a WP, WP+ or WP++ flag;
- Maintain a 60% average performance for each year of your degree.

How to apply
There is no separate application form. All eligible UK students who hold an offer of a place within the Faculty at ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ will be considered for a scholarship.

Selection process
This scholarship will be awarded to the highest performing applicants in each discipline who are WP, WP+ or WP++ and meet the criteria. Awards will be made based on the information provided in the UCAS application and achieved results at A-level.
Awardees will be contacted after registration in Semester 1.

Breaks in funding
This award is not provided during study years abroad, placement years, or if a student takes a study interruption.
