The Humanitarian Archive Emergency Landscape Report is now out!
HCRI鈥檚 project on risks to humanitarian archives releases a new report on the scale of the threat and a practical framework for action.聽
The humanitarian sector is at risk of losing a significant part of its institutional memory. Humanitarian archives, records, and datasets (ARD), ranging from registration records and case files to operational data and evaluations, are being neglected, deleted, or left without adequate stewardship.
Produced by the聽聽(HAE) coalition, Key Aid Consulting and the Institute of Development Studies, a new report assesses the scale and nature of the threat, identifies collections most at risk, and proposes a practical framework for action.
The report draws on a global evidence base that includes a desk review, a public registry survey, a diagnostic survey of 30 collections, 27 expert interviews, and regional consultations in Amman, Dakar, Bogot谩, Bangkok, and Nairobi.聽
The HAE coalition is led by the University鈥檚 Humanitarian & Conflict Response Institute (HCRI) and the PI is Prof Bertrand Taithe.
